I have been fortunate to have enjoyed two career pathways and now look forward to bringing them together in future opportunities.
My media experience began at BBC Radio Bristol where I quickly became a presenter and producer. After working for the British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) overseas I returned to the UK to front HTV’s Night Club and subsequently presented the local news headlines. Over a period of 17 years I worked across local television and radio networks and furthered opportunities with BFBS where I presented and directed live children’s segments for their worldwide television service.
Following a period of re-training, I qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and currently run my own private practice treating victims of trauma as well as working for the NHS in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Hertfordshire.

I am by nature a confident, relaxed and energetic television and radio presenter and producer, with experience in handling a variety of broadcasting situations in an interesting and essentially credible manner.  I have good communication skills, either directly or via written scripts, and can broadcast competently to all ages in a personable and outgoing manner.  I get on well with people at all levels and of all ages, across a broad spectrum of interests and abilities.  I set high standards for my efforts, enjoy being involved in a task from inception to completion and work hard to achieve demanding goals, both those set for me and  those I set myself.

I have 15 years broadcasting experience and have spent 10 years studying and practicing psychology. I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist with experience in working with children, young people and their families on a variety of mental health problems. I am a 2nd degree black belt and qualified instructor in TaeKwon-Do.

WORK EXPERIENCE
1985 - 1987B.B.C. Radio Bristol:  I joined initially as a volunteer, but was soon enrolled as a trainee station assistant, providing continuity, taped reports and acting as a co-presenter on a number of programmes.  I also wrote and produced comic sketches and was assistant producer for a weekly review show.  I engineered the Saturday Sports Show.
1987 - 1988B.F.B.S.: I presented the Teatime Show in Cyprus before returning to London to present networked shows to all B.F.B.S. stations World-wide.
1988 - 1989H.T.V.: I launched the Night Club service providing In-vision links through the night, before moving to day-time continuity and local news bulletins.
1989 - 2010

Regular presenter/reporter for the R.A.C., Free-lance/ Thames, B.B.C. B.F.B.S. - produced numerous wildlife/environmental features for BFBS  Radio.  On BFBS Television introduced children to wonders on Worm World and Butterfly Farming only to drop them on set!!!  H.T.V., B.B.C. Bristol and B.B.C. Gloucestershire.  I provided continuity for Thames Night Time network and currently H.T.V. which includes presenting the local news, I also present Room 785, a live satellite service to forces  families overseas as well as producing and presenting a long standing children’s magazine show for B.F.B.S.  Previously I produced and presented the Top 40  for B.F.B.S. and various shows for B.B.C. local radio.  I also worked as a researcher for Telly Addicts for 4 series.  More recently I have been working as a transmission controller/director for B.F.B.S. television.

Writer/Director -Nautilus News, U.W.F. (TV) Channel 4, Pensacola Florida.  I wrote and directed a short series of comical features based on an Englishman’s view of life in America.
